Firstly, my apologies for writing in English, but I just find it so much easier! And secondly many, many thanks to Rod for organizing the day.
After meeting up at the sailing club restaurant at lunchtime and enjoying an informal meal we headed into the club room to discuss the glorious ins and outs of German taxation - in particular the EStG and UStG, with brief detours into the worlds of "Gewerbesteuer", "Ertragssteuer", "Lohnsteuer" and the like. Although the subject may be a dry one, Rod certainly enjoys explaining it and he made the afternoon a very enjoyable and informative one. So much so, in fact, that we still weren't done at 8 o'clock at night and decided to carry on discussing German taxation instead of going on a guided tour of Schwerin!
I had to leave on the Sunday, so I didn't get to enjoy the second part of the Steuerseminar - which I believe was held on the way to and at Friedrichsmoor.
Zunächst mal ein dickes Lob für Rod wegen der perfekten Organisation: Seminarraum mit Blick auf den Schweriner See (sogar Antje ist diesmal satt geworden), wunderschöne, wildromatische Wegstrecke für die Kanufahrt zum malerischen Jagdschloß Friedrichsmoor. Vielen Dank für das Steuerseminar. Du hast das trockene Thema so voller Begeisterung vorgetragen, dass man sich einfach mitreißen lassen mußte und keine Langweile aufkam. Natürlich möchte ich auch allen anderen Teilnehmern für die nette Gesellschaft und die Bereitschaft zum Erfahrungsaustausch danken. Last not least vielen Dank an Harry für die professionell präsentierten Photos.
Danke an Rod für alles, es hat alles wunderbar gepasst und auch das Essen war diesmal bestens! Sogar mein Muskelkater in den Schultern hält sich in Grenzen, ich staune.
Alison, Glückwunsch zu deinem Entschluss, reiten zu lernen - das ist eine lebenslange Aufgabe, das weißt du schon? :-) Nächstes Jahr sprechen wir uns wieder! (Vielleicht sollten wir dann versuchen, einen Westernstall aufzutun, im "Cowboysattel" und mit coolen Westernpferden tut man sich als Newbie nicht so schwer.)

The updates to the menu were made to make the site easy and more intuitive for visitors. Obviously, like any change, this may take a few days to get used to.
The dropdown menus have been divided into two-dimensional panels with similar items grouped together under headings. This eliminates scrolling for those with smaller screens, and also improves readability.
Mouseover your name at the top of the screen. Here you will find information about your account, your email settings, and more. The "My ProZ.com" menu was moved up here to simplify the main navigation, and to keep all of this type of information together.
