In the spirit of international understanding and cooperation among guitarists I am seeking to compile a translation list for all languages for parts of the guitar. There is very little in the official translation books or elsewhere for these terms. Not even in those big Web translation programs. It may not be important to the rest of the world, but it is to us. If this works, I will do acoustic guitars next.

A website in Romanian and English that offers a multilingual dictionary which seems to be updated very frequently with hundreds of terms and expressions in very different (especially multi-technical) fields. Term search is achieved through a search engine, and there is a dictionary log on the right side listing the latest registered terms. Of course, the suggested terminology often depends on precise contexts and can sometimes be helpful without necessarily giving the appropriate translation. Many language combinations are available, although combinations between Romanian and English, French or German seem to offer the widest database, and it is hard for me to tell what can actually be found in other combinations. Basically: explore it to find out what it can actually offer you. ;-)

The dictionary is built on the database maintained by the terminology sector of the National Library of Estonia and contains about 4400 bibliography, bibliology, IT etc. terms approved by the terminology comission of the Estonian Librarians' Assosiation. The dictionary will be regularly updated. The dictionary can be searched by exact term or part of the term. Search string must contain at least 3 letters. If exact search gives no results try searching by part. Example: To find all English terms that contain the word subject you have to insert subject into the search-box, select English from the drop-down list and mark the button part. Then click on the search button. The results will be displayed by ten terms per page. To see the next page click on the link Next. To see the record click on the term. In the record Estonian term is in the first row. Below the main term are possible synonyms followed by definition that may contain links to other terms. Estonian terms have English, Russian, German, Finnish and French equivalents if found. British English has been chosen, e.g. catalogue, centre. Other: bibliographic vs bibliographical, thematic vs thematical, enquiry vs inquiry.

Specific fields: Medical: Dentistry | Medical: Health Care | Medical (general) | Medical: Cardiology | Medical: Instruments | Pharmaceuticals = Med: Pharma

Not a glossary as much as a resource for templates for pharmaceutical information, package leaflets and product summaries for medical products in the EU.
"The Working Group on the Quality Review of Documents (QRD) was established in June 1996 and is composed of representatives from Member States' national authorities, the European Commission and the EMEA.
The group provides assistance to the EMEA scientific committees and to companies on linguistic aspects of the product information (summary of product characteristics, labelling and package leaflet) for medicines. "

GlossPost Administration Note: Although strictly NOT a glossary, the EMEA website search engine retrieves source and target terms used in its technical files. To use it effectively as a term resource, key in the source term, search for it in the document, retrieve the corresponding target language document by changing the language abbreviation in the link, and search for the translation or equivalent version, which will be numbered in the same way as found in the source text.

These national industrial relations glossaries are not systematically updated, and some of the material may not reflect the current situation.
