A website in Romanian and English that offers a multilingual dictionary which seems to be updated very frequently with hundreds of terms and expressions in very different (especially multi-technical) fields. Term search is achieved through a search engine, and there is a dictionary log on the right side listing the latest registered terms. Of course, the suggested terminology often depends on precise contexts and can sometimes be helpful without necessarily giving the appropriate translation. Many language combinations are available, although combinations between Romanian and English, French or German seem to offer the widest database, and it is hard for me to tell what can actually be found in other combinations. Basically: explore it to find out what it can actually offer you. ;-)

"The Working Group on the Quality Review of Documents (QRD) was established in June 1996 and is composed of representatives from Member States' national authorities, the European Commission and the EMEA.
The group provides assistance to the EMEA scientific committees and to companies on linguistic aspects of the product information (summary of product characteristics, labelling and package leaflet) for medicines. "

To use it effectively as a term resource, key in the source term, search for it in the document, retrieve the corresponding target language document by changing the language abbreviation in the link, and search for the translation or equivalent version, which will be numbered in the same way as found in the source text.

English
> Many languages
General fields: Science | Other
Specific fields: Plants = Botany | Gastronomy = Cooking / Culinary
Keywords: spices, herbs

This index comprises about 10000 names for far more than 100 spices and herbs. English and German names will be found for every spice, as well as the Latin terms used by Botanists and (if of medical use) in pharmaceutical science. For the more common spices, I give names in practically all European languages; for more obscure spices, at least some languages (Dutch, Russian, Hungarian, Polish) are supported almost throughout. There is also a large number of Far Eastern languages supported in this index. Almost all plants are now named in Chinese (typically Mandarin, although there is a large number of Cantonese names also), Korean and Japanese; a significant number of plant names in Vietnamese, Thai, Malay and Indonesian are available, especially of plants with some tradition in South East Asia. Support for other languages (Khmer, Burmese, Lao, Tagalog) is significantly poorer. Languages of India will be expanded upon shortly. There are still defienciencies in languages of Western and Central Asia: Currently, only Turkish, Arabic and Farsi are included to a reasonable degree. African and even more American languages are very badly represented in this index.

Includes general alphabetic, English alphabetic, morphologic, and botanic indexes.
