Het eerste antwoord is beslist juist, maar ik denk dat het woord 'id' nét wat meer bekend is bij engelstaligen dan bij nederlandstaligen. Omdat de context hier niet psychologie is, maar 'Art/Literary' denk ik dat een term als 'driften' of 'oerdriften' (zie link 2) dan duidelijker is.
