Description:The idea behind the Cross Culture team is simple: apply the 'cultural block' notion to your multilingual translation tasks.

For instance, a Microsoft-type society wanting to translate its material into Roman languages (i.e. French, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian & Spanish) will benefit from translating it into French first and from there into other Roman languages (rather than from English into each and every other Roman Language) through:

a) greater linguistic similarities between English and French than between English and other Roman Languages, due to historical and cultural circumstances

b) greater mindset similarities between French and other Roman Languages, hence more coherent translations

c) less busy/demanding resources in Roman Language combinations

To take an example, try and ask for translation of the word 'range' in FIPRS and you could get anything like:

plage/scala/amplitudo/domeniu/rango

Now, ask for translation of French 'échelle' in IPRS and you will most probably get something like:

scala/escala/escala/escala...
