About me

Hi, my name is Huagang Yang, you may call me Peter. I am so pleased to meet you here at Proz.

I have been a full-time CN-EN & EN-CN translator in both U.S. and China for nearly two decades. After all these years in the translation field, in my views, translation is more than conversion of one language into another, it is basically about the art of understanding your target audiences from their perspective and of communicating the right messages. Thus a lot of cultural sensitivities are involved here.

Apart from a long history of being a professional translator in China, I received my M.A. in Public Communication Studies from Syracuse University and my M.S. in Statistics from Rutgers University. I have worked in law and international trade in U.S. for two years after graduation.

I am now a full-time freelance cross-cultural communication consultant for clients from both China and abroad. I am proficient in translating and proofreading materials in such fields as marketing research, media, public polilcy, law & contracts, telecommunication, statistics, software localization and tourism.
