Máy bay quân sự rơi do sương mù dày đặc
Chiều qua, tại hội trường Bộ tư lệnh Quân khu 4, Đảng ủy quân sự trung ương và Bộ Quốc phòng đã thông báo tổ chức lễ tang trọng thể cho đoàn cán bộ quân đội đã hy sinh trong vụ máy bay rơi ngày 26/1.
Bộ Quốc phòng cũng quyết định thành lập ban lễ tang gồm 13 người do thượng tướng Nguyễn Văn Rinh, Thứ trưởng Bộ Quốc phòng, làm trưởng ban.
Khoảng 9h sáng cùng ngày, lực lượng tổng hợp gồm bộ đội biên phòng, hải quân, quân chủng phòng không - không quân đã kết thúc công tác cứu hộ sau gần 10 giờ dốc sức dập lửa và đưa thi thể các cán bộ quân đội về quàn tải Bệnh viện quân y 4.
Chiếc máy bay trực thăng MI-8 xuất phát từ đoàn bay trung đoàn 954, sư đoàn 372 tại Đà Nẵng và đáp xuống sân bay Vinh ngày 24/1. Sáng 25, chuyến bay đầu tiên chở đoàn cán bộ và phóng viên báo Quân khu 4 đi kiểm tra công tác sẵn sàng chiến đấu và chúc Tết cán bộ chiến sĩ ngoài đào Cồn Cổ (Quảng Trị) đã diễn ra suôn sẻ. Chiều cùng ngày máy bay lại về sân bay Vinh. Sáng 26/1, máy bay cất cán từ sân bay Vinh tiếp tục đợt công tác tại Hòn Mê (thuộc huyện Tĩnh Gia, Thanh Hóa). Lúc 15h43 cùng ngày chiếc máy bay này cất cánh từ Hòn Mê ra Hòn Mắt trong thời tiết sương mù dày đặc. Theo một số nguồn tin từ Quân khu 4, khi vừa rời mặt đất được 2 phút, do không nhận ra hướng bay nên máy báy đâm vào vách núi tại Hòn mê (cách mặt biển 200 m), gây tiếng nổ lớn khiến toàn bộ chiếc máy bay bốc cháy.
Ngoài 12 cán bộ và một phóng viên đã xác định được tên tuổi, 3 phi công lâm nạn gồm: Thượng tá Trần Trung Triệu - Phó trung đoàn trưởng quân huấn trung đoàn 954, sư đoàn 372; trung tá Trương Quang Minh - chủ nhiệm dẫn đường trung đoàn 954; trung úy Nguyễn Trung Tuyến - cơ giới trên không K32 trung đoàn 954.
MI-8 là loại máy bay trực thăng đa mục đích do Liên Xô trước đây sản xuất, bay lần đầu tiên tháng 1/1960 và được biết đến nhiều vào giữa những năm 1960.
Cho đến nay đã có khoảng 1.500 chiếc MI-8 được sản xuất với nhiều kiểu loại khác nhau, phục vụ nhiều mục đích cả về dân sự và quân sự. Các loại máy bay trực thăng MI-8 đã được xuất khẩu tới ít nhất 54 nước trên thế giới.
Một số tính năng cơ bản của MI-8:
Dài: 25,2 m, rộng: 2,5 m, khoang dài: 5,3 m, rộng 2,3 m và cao 1,8 m. Trọng lượng cất cánh thông thường: 11.100 kg. Trọng lượng cất cánh lớn nhất: 12.000 kg. Tải trọng thông thường: 2.355 kg. Tải trọng lớn nhất: 4.000 kg. Đeo vật nặng bên ngoài: 3.000 kg. Có thể chở: 24 binh sĩ cùng trang bị. Tốc độ bay trung bình: 220-240 km/giờ. Trần bay: 4.500 m. Tầm bay trung bình: 450 km. Military Aircraft downed in thick fog
Yesterday afternoon at the Headquarters Military Region 4 briefing hall, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of Defense announced the solemn funeral arrangements for the group of army cadre lost in the aircraft crash of 26/1.
The Ministry of Defense also decided to establish a 13 person funeral committee chaired by Deputy Defense Minister General Nguyễn Văn Rinh.
At approximately 09:00 on the same morning, a task force consisting of border security forces, navy, Airforce – Air Defense Forces concluded their all out search effort after almost 10 hours and returned the bodies of the army cadres to lie in state at Military Region 4 Medical Corps Hospital.
An MI-8 helicopter set out from the 954th regiment, 372nd division airfield at Đà Nẵng and set down at Vinh airport on 24/1. The first leg of the journey to transport Military Region 4 cadres and news correspondents to inspect operational readiness and wish a happy New Year to military personnel on Cồn Cổ island (Quảng Trị) began without incident on the morning of the 25th That afternoon the aircraft returned to Vinh airport. On the morning of the 26th the aircraft lifted off from Vinh airport to continue the next leg to Hòn Mê island (Tĩnh Gia district, Thanh Hóa province). At 15:43 that afternoon the aircraft took off from Hòn Mê for Hòn Mắt island in thick foggy weather. According to a number of sources from Military Region 4, a mere 2 minutes after lift off the aircraft ploughed into the Hòn mê mountainside (200m from the sea) due to low visibility, causing a loud explosion and engulfing the aircraft in flames.
Apart from the 12 officers and 1 news correspondent identified, 3 aircrew consisting of: Senior lieutenant colonel Trần Trung Triệu – Deputy Regimental Training Commander 954th regiment, 372nd division; Lieutenant Colonel Trương Quang Minh – advisor to the 954th regiment; Lieutenant Nguyễn Trung Tuyến - K32 aircraft mechanic, 954th regiment.
The MI-8 is an aircraft previously produced in the Soviet Union, flew for the first time in January 1960 and came to prominence in the mid-1960s.
To date about 1,500 chiếc MI-8s have been manufactured in many different variants serving both military and civilian purposes. The MI-8 helicopter has been to at least 54 countries around the world.
