- What is Trados/CAT in general
- What can it be used for
- Setting up Trados in PC, arranging windows etc.
- Important settings in Trados
- Preparing Word for Work with Trados
- How to translate an easy Word file
- What to do with bad formatting
- What to do if format changes appear
- Using Tageditor to translate Word
- What is tagged text
- Using Tageditor to translate other formats, as Excel or Powerpoint and other
- Creating a Multiterm database from Excel sheet

The above is the maximum we can achieve. Please bring an installed Trados version with you. Using an older version is possible, however it will limit you in using Tageditor for some formats. Please also note, that the test version of Trados is very strictly limited and I cannot influence it, if you are able to open a certain file or perform an import of a translation memory. During the session we will have no time to deal with installation problems or problems with opening files.
Training materials are now downloadable here. It is your own responsibility to download and install them. There will be no time for that during the session.
If you do not have SDL Trados or have an older version, you should download the latest SDL Trados 2007 demo from Translationzone and install it prior to the session. It is a fully working 30-days demo.

Please note, that if you wish to participate also in the advanced session, some parts of this training will be repeated there, but with a different approach - much faster and not so detailed, as here.

As there is a special closed offer to purchase SDL Trados 2007 at a reduced rate, adressed only to the participants of this training, please contact me for details, if you are interested. Due to restrictions set by SDL this offer may only be disclosed to people, who registered for the training.

Thank you for chosing my session
