Andrew has 18 years of international experience managing operations in publishing, electronic publishing and localization worldwide. He helps international companies to manage and implement change by assisting them in understanding the individual challenges of their organizations, identifying the technology needed to address them, and by effectively implementing these solutions. Andrew completed the implementation of five localization production hubs in developing countries for the World Bank and developed the global publishing strategy of the World Conservation Union. As Translation Manager at The World Bank, he implemented and managed one of the world’s largest Globalization Translation Management System (GTMS) installations. He is co-author of the best practice guide for implementing global content management systems (CMS) published by the Localization Industry Standard Association (LISA), and he facilitates workshops on CMS. Andrew has also served as Managing Director for Central & Eastern Europe for Berlitz GlobalNet and Managing Director of HEP, the electronic publishing arm of the Holtzbrinck Publishing Group that includes Scientific American, Henry Holt, St. Martin’s Press, Farrar Straus and Giroux, as well as Handelsblatt.

| Christine York | | | Bio: Christine York is a freelance translator specializing in audiovisual translation. Since 1994, she has translated and/or subtitled more than a hundred television programs and films, including over twenty documentaries for the National Film Board of Canada. She holds a Master's Degree from Concordia University and is currently doing a PhD in Translation Studies at the University of Ottawa.

| Daniele Heinen (Canada), L'Arc-en-plume | | | Bio: A French national, Daniele obtained a degree in Business Administration in Lyon then worked internationally in Africa, back and forth between English and French. After an MBA in the US, she found herself working out of New York, internationally again. She turned translator after losing her job in 1991 and immigrated to Canada, settled in Montreal and had to go it alone to set herself up as an freelancer. She also started a side business selling some of the electronic dictionaries she was using herself to colleagues in the US and Canada. She was active for some time at OTTIAQ and a regular participant and exhibitor at ATA conference. Translation took her to work internationally again, down under to Brisbane, Australia as Translation Manager to create organize and run a Translation Department for a mining project with the construction of the mine taking place in French speaking New Caledonia.

Jocelyne Doyle-Rodrigue cumule une vaste expérience du milieu de la traduction tant dans le secteur privé qu’ l’administration fédérale. Elle a fait ses premières armes au Bureau de la traduction au début des années 1970. En 1980, elle fonde et dirige sa propre entreprise, Les Traductions Excelcom/Translex Inc., qui est devenue la plus importante entreprise de traduction au Canada. En 1997, Mme Doyle-Rodrigue vend sa compagnie à Lexi-Tech International Inc. Après une retraite de quelques années, elle réintègre le Bureau en 2001 titre de gestionnaire du Développement sectoriel (Développement de l’entreprise). Peu de temps après, elle accède au poste de directrice de la Traduction multilingue et des Services régionaux.
Jocelyne Doyle-Rodrigue est titulaire d’un Baccalauréat spécialisé en traduction de l’Université de Montréal. Elle est membre agréée de l’Association des traducteurs et interprtes de l’Ontario, dont elle a été présidente de 1990 1992. Elle a siégé divers groupes et comités dont le Comité sectoriel de l’industrie de la traduction au Canada (co-présidente), le Regroupement des gens d’affaires de l’Outaouais (secrétaire-trésorire) et le Conseil d’administration de la Société d’aide l’enfance d’Ottawa-Carleton (présidente). Elle a reçu le Prix d’excellence pour la moyenne et grande entreprise décerné par le Regroupement des gens d’affaires de l’Outaouais l’entreprise de l’année et le Businesswomen’s Achievement Award décerné par The Women’s Business Network Association of Ottawa la femme d’affaires de l’année dans la région d’Ottawa-Hull.

Jocelyne Doyle-Rodrigue has acquired extensive experience in the translation profession in the private sector as well as the public service. She started at the Translation Bureau in the early 1970s. In 1980, she founded and managed her own company, Les Traductions Excelcom/Translex Inc., which became the largest translation company in Canada. In 1997, Ms. Doyle-Rodrigue sold her company to Lexi-Tech International Inc. After a retirement of some years, she rejoined the Bureau in 2001 as manager of Sectoral Development (Business Development). Soon after, she became Director of the Multilingual and Regional Services Branch.
Jocelyne Doyle-Rodrigue holds an honours degree in translation from the Université de Montréal. She is a certified member of the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario, of which she was president from 1990 to 1992. She has sat on various groups and committees, including the Canadian Translation Industry Sectoral Committee (co-chair), the Regroupement des gens d’affaires de l’Outaouais (secretary-treasurer) and the board of the Children’s Aid Society of Ottawa-Carleton (president). She received the Award of excellence for company of the year in the medium- and large-size business category from the Regroupement des gens d’affaires de l’Outaouais and the Businesswomen’s Achievement Award for businesswoman of the year in the Ottawa-Hull region from the Women’s Business Network Association of Ottawa.

| Louise Brunette (Canada), Université du Québec en Outaouais (Directrice du Module des lettres, Études langagières, UQO ) | | | Bio: Louise Brunette est réviseure professionnelle anglais-français. Après plus de 20 ans de pratique, elle a orienté sa carrière vers l'enseignement universitaire et la formation professionnelle. Ses études doctorales à Paris III-Sorbonne lui ont donné l'occasion d'approfondir encore ses connaissances sur la révision professionnelle et la pédagogie de cette matière. Elle s'intéresse aussi à la normalisation des méthodes de traduction et de révision et à la qualité en localisation tout en menant des recherches sur la révision et sur l'ergonomie des outils d'aide à la traduction, dans l'optique de la qualité. Elle enseigne à l'Université du Québec en Outaouais où elle est aussi responsable des programmes de traduction.

She works in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and food industries. | Paola Ludovici MacQuarrie (Canada), Lexi-tech (Recruiting Manager at Lexi-tech International) | | | Bio: Paola began as a literary translator after graduating from the University of Rome (La Sapienza) in Foreign Modern Languages. After moving to Canada, she obtained her accreditation with the Translation Bureau of the federal government in 1989, and has since tackled an array of texts for Ministers of the Crown, Members of Parliament, and many Federal Departments. In the last three years she has translated from Italian into English, mainly in the field of humanities. In March 2002, she joined the Lexi-tech International team as Recruiting Manager.
