Conference program A realistic view of your collaboration with the EU Date and time: 14:10-15:05, Saturday, 1 December, 2007 NOTE: This session has already been held
Room: Room A
Description: 40-min Presentation followed by 15-min Q&A
This session is addressed to both potential and actual translation services providers of the EU institutions, as well as to any professional who would like to know how EU external translations work.
I will start from a few common clichés about the EU in order to build a realistic image of the EU translation services. I will then go into the details of an external collaboration with the EU, describing the types of texts one can expect, the requirements of the EU institutions translation services and the quality assurance system an external translator would be subject to. Speaker: | Dan Marasescu (Belgium) | | Bio: After a happy career as a freelance translator, I am now facing the challenge of being an in-house translator for the Council of the European Union. One of my present tasks is the revision and evaluation of external translations. ProZ.com member: Dan Marasescu | | |
