Date and time: 14:30-16:30, Sunday, 9 June, 2013 NOTE: This session has already been held
Room: C - Biombo (30 Escola)
In this moderated two-hour round-table session Joao Roque Dias, Marta Stelmaszak and Attila Piroth will discuss recent developments and trends in the translation and interpretation sectors, with the active participation of the audience.
Staring with a discussion of how the court interpreting profession was destroyed in the UK, we'll identify key areas where conflicts of interest arise, such as technology lock-in; efficient communication to shape the public opinion, standards and policies; as well as university education.
