Welcome to the web site of the 2009 international event, the 6th Proz.com International Conference in Ohrid, Macedonia, to be held from 2-5 July, 2009, organized jointly by ProZ.com and Hristina Dojcinova, supported by the Congress Service Center Skopje, leading Macedonian translation company.
After the successful organization of the 5th ProZ International Conference which took place in Budapest in 2007, Proz.com members have the opportunity to convene again at the international level in the ancient city of Ohrid, Macedonia, a small historic country with extensive culture, situated in South East Europe.
Please read carefully this conference site, it contains most of the information you might need to ask about this event. Feel free to navigate among the tabs as they may contain the answer to your questions:

Conference location:
The echo of the history of biblical Macedonia has its deepest resonance in Ohrid - the city-museum of ancient Macedonian and European spiritual and cultural tradition. As a UNESCO world heritage city, Ohrid is rich in archaeological sites, old city architecture and the 365 churches – one for every day of the year.
Ohrid is a famous conference venue and has recently hosted top level political events, such as the NATO EAPC Security Forum in 2007, the UNESCO World Conference on Dialogue Among Religions and Civilizations in 2007, the Summit of Presidents of CEU countries in 2008, to mention but a few.

Conference venue:
The 6th Proz.com International Conference will take place at the Metropol Lake Resort. The Metropol Lake Resort is situated in the most beautiful part of the east coast of Lake Ohrid, with the lake view on one side, and mountain view on the other side.
The resort consists of three hotels:
· Hotel Metropol
· Hotel Bellevue
· Hotel Tourist
The entire room capacity of the three hotels which are adjacent to one another is nearly 400 double rooms, in addition to the standard and deluxe suites.

Conference fees and packages
Several options are available:
The All-inclusive package includes : conference attendance, your accommodation for Friday night and Saturday night at the Metropol Lake resort (in a double room) with 2 breakfasts, Friday night opening dinner, Saturday lunch, Gala dinner, Sunday lunch and transportation from the Skopje Airport to Ohrid and from Ohrid to Skopje.
The Conference-only package includes: conference attendance, Friday night opening dinner, Saturday lunch, Gala Dinner and Sunday Lunch. It does not include transportation.
The Spouse/Extra Person package is here if you wish to come with your family, a friend, etc. This package includes full accomodation per extra person for Friday night and Saturday night (nights and meals, either in the same room as you or in another double room), Friday night opening dinner, Gala Dinner and Transportation. It excludes Conference attendance.
Please note that if you want to come with an extra person who will attend the Conference, you have to create a ProZ.com account to register and pay for this person. All Conference attendees have to be accounted for on the page. This does not apply for the spouse package - only if you're coming with someone who will attend the sessions as a regular attendee.

One-day passes are now available - Saturday only OR Sunday only. These passes include your conference attendance for one-day only, the coffee breaks and 1 lunch. They do not include transportation and Gala Dinner.
Please note that none of the packages include your travel costs to Skopje.
The item 'Transportation' refers to the bus shuttle that we have organized to pick you up at Skopje airport and bring you to the Metropol Lake Resort in Ohrid - and back. Shuttles timetables will be created once we have more details about your flights schedule. Please check the conference forum for more details and updates.
IMPORTANT:
You can book extra nights if you wish (excluding Friday and Saturday, since those are the nights included in the All-inclusive package). Please note that it's your responsibility to call the hotel and make your reservation, even if you purchased an all-inclusive package.
