Announcing new Connect improvements for October

In our continuing effort to deliver requested features and improvements, we are pleased to announce the release of some new improvements to ProZ.com Connect.

  • Updated "find/select vendors" page released
  • New search criteria/requirements
    • Non-language services (e.g. project management)
    • Search by name
    • Credentials
    • Association membership
  • Reply to candidate messages directly from your email program
  • Corporate member forum

Updated "find/select vendors" page released

An updated version of the page used to find and select vendors has been released, after a successful period of beta testing and user-driven improvements. With this new interface, as you define your requirements a list of language professionals who meet those requirements is shown, updated in real time using dynamic Web 2.0 techniques. You then have the option to contact candidates directly from this page, or post a job to those who qualify. Click here to access the new find page.

New search criteria/requirements

Connect users have asked for a number of new search criteria/types of requirement, and we're pleased to deliver them. These new requirements are available on the "find" page, and include the following:
  • Non-language services - The "services" requirement now allows you to find candidates who provide such non-language services as project management, sales, desktop publishing, and more.
  • Search by name - Find vendors and companies by name.
  • Credentials - Require eligible candidates to have reported specific credentials.
  • Association membership - Require candidates to have reported membership in specific associations.

Reply to candidate messages directly from your email program

When candidates submit quotes or reply to a message you have sent them via Connect, you can now reply to them directly from your email program, in addition to managing your communications online via the Connect message center. (Note that this option will not be available for candidates who have chosen not to share their email address with you).

Corporate member forum

Some corporate members have requested their own semi-private forum on ProZ.com, in which they can discuss industry issues with other language companies and translation agencies. In response, we have created a new forum accessible only by ProZ.com corporate members in good standing. If this interests you, please click here to introduce yourself in the new forum.
