PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
From 1994 to the present Freelance Translator and Interpreter and Program Manager with Arlington Language Service. Conducting freelance translation for governmental agencies and private companies, including translating military, political, literary, and scientific documents with a thorough knowledge of Arabic and English languages at the native level.

From April 2007 to Present Education Program Manager with OSS in Baghdad, Iraq. I am running all the education programs run by the U.S. military in Iraq. I am responsible of implementing, running the operation and administration sides of all the U.S. military education programs in Iraq which include, Bucca in southern Iraq, 4 schools, Future, in Baghdad, Juvenile school, Cropper in Baghdad, adult males and adult females and literacy programs. Taji in northern Baghdad, adult males and literacy and Votech education programs. And Ramadi, adult males education program. I do coordinate between the U.S military and the Iraqi Ministry of education in this regard. I am also a member of the Iraqi national literacy campaign launched by the Iraqi Prime Minister office and the US military in Iraq and several international NGOs, such as UNISCO, United States Institute of Peace. We help in rehabilitating, preparing and integrating Iraqi detainees. We teach them from elementary level to High school level, teach them a trade and help them find jobs in the Iraqi society so that they wouldn’t return to committing any sort of crimes or insurgencies.

From January 2006 to July 2008 Assistant Professor of Arabic Language with the Department of Defense, Defense Language Institute, Foreign Language Center. Developing online Arabic Language lessons and materials for U.S. Government officials in the field, such as Iraq and Arabian Peninsula, conducting OPI tests for Service members according to the ILR language levels. Teaching the US soldiers Arabic language at college level.

From January 2004 to January 2006 Arabic Language Teacher Teaching the Arabic Language to several government employees, such as DoS and DoD personnel at Inlingua language school in Washington D.C., and providing language instruction and cultural tips pertaining to the Arabic, Islamic, and Middle Eastern culture, as well as conducting the Foreign Service Institute language test for the DoS foreign officers.

07/2004 to 09/2005 Customer Service Agent with American Airlines at Washington Dulles International Airport. Helping the American Airlines and the One World Alliance, which include; British Airways (Britain), Finn air (Finland), Qantas (Australia), Air Lingus (Ireland), LAN (Chile), Cathay Pacific (Hong Kong), and Iberia (Spain) customers in their reservations, boarding, and troubleshooting their problems, with a commitment to excellence, accuracy, and safety.

Conducted press interviews and reports covering current events, both domestic and international. Translated foreign news clips, and scanned the foreign media for news and reports that might be of interest to Arab readers.
