EXPERIENCE
8+ years as a business translator
In the past I have always combined my translation and interpreting experience with HR, PR and teaching jobs, but for almost 2 years now I am a full-time freelance translator, based in Italy.
At present I am translating mainly from and into Italian, as Italian became my second mother tongue, this is also due to the huge similarities it has with my first mother tongue - the Romanian language; but I have never abandoned English translations, especially when it comes to marketing & advertising fields. My portfolio counts already 6 books translated in this area of expertise!
And I am always glad when it happens to have some French translation, as this is the first foreign language I “felt in love with” at the age of only 10 years old!

All my translations are revised by other linguists I am collaborating with and I can have my translations double-checked really fast. Have I mentioned I also provide editing and proofreading services?
How do I check my work?
After finishing the translation of a project, I leave the document for a “rest”, returning to check it thoroughly after a 12 hours break, in order to insure not only the linguistic integrity, but also the semantic consistency and technical accuracy of the target language text, in order to make less obvious it’s about a translated text. (if any serious doubt I always ask for suggestions the ProZ translation community or a professional Romanian monolingual proof-reader I usually collaborate with.)
Then, if the deadlines are not very tight, I leave the translation for another 12 hours “rest” and revise it methodically once more for adjusting any other small inconveniences encountered.

As a rule, my rates range between 0,05 – 0,07 euro per source word, but on projects exceeding 10000 words I offer a 5%discount, if it’s not a rush job.
As a rule I do not have restrictions for my weekends mobility, except force majeure cases.
