Dear all,

does any of you have experience with extracting the contents of a Catalyst TTK file, e.g. to work on the file(s) with SDL Trados tools?

Thanks a lot,
Petra

Use Catalyst Lite Dec 16, 2008

Hello,

Why don´t you use Alchemy Catalyst Lite?
The Lite version is a bit limited, but you can use it to translate TTKs, and it´s totally free!

Hope this helps.

Kobe

Hi Kobe,

thanks for your reply, that's is one option we are considering. However, I was wondering whether anyone has experience with other options...

Thanks anyway!

Hi Petra,

You need Alchemy Catalyst (the paying version). First, specify source and target languages. Then, you can extract untranslated segments into a tmx (Tools > Extract > Tmx...). Then, add .xml extension to the .tmx file and create an .ini with Trados.

Translate and then clean-up the file. You can import the translation back into Catalyst (Tools > Expert leverage). Remove the .xml extension and import the tmx file.

Note: Translated segments must be revised in Catalyst.

Oscar
