OK, I'm extremely worried. I've been provided a version of Publisher to work on for a client, and I was working away and I did something (I don't remember what exactly) that made Publisher abort/crash, and now the PPF file I was working on totally disappeared! I have done a search for the file on my entire hard drive, and it is no where to be found! I did find the corresponding .bak file, but I have no clue if I can use this file to restore the PPF file. Does anyone know?? I just hope all the work I've done up to this point isn't gone!

Hi Shannon,

If that behaviour occurs again, please take note of the steps you took which led to the crash and email the steps along with the bak file to

By renaming the extension on the bak file to ppf, you will then be able to open it with Publisher. If you are still experiencing trouble, please contact support:
