Hello everyone,

I'm having more and more tendonitis problems in my forearms and am seriously thinking of buying Dragon, or I'll have to stop working altogether.

I've been doing a little bit of research and have come up with this:

http://www.clarosoftware.com/info/dragon-for-mac-solution/22
http://www.clarosoftware.com/blog/?p=18
http://alltogether.wordpress.com/2008/01/16/dragon-naturally-speaking-for-mac/

and this IBM edition, I don't know if it's Dragon itself?
http://www.nuance.com/viavoice/osx/

Does anyone know more about it? Has anyone tried anything similar?

Thank you so much for your answers!

Anne

MacSpeech Dictate - new product Feb 7, 2008

I find it a bit confusing to find IBM ViaVoice in the Nuance site, in the Dragon/Macintosh page, since IBM ViaVoice and Dragon Naturally Speaking are 2 different and competing products (at least, they were ) - I guess they do not have a Mac version of Dragon yet and are licensing ViaVoice instead...

I also found this, though:
http://www.macspeech.com/pages.php?pID=53
MacSpeech Dictate, powered by Dragon's engine. It has just been released and it is currently available only as crossgrade for existing iListen users - so you would need to buy iListen first and then cross-grade (for 29$) to Dictate...

cheers,
Roberta

Thanks Roberta Feb 8, 2008

It seems that's the solution...

I am now trying to know if they sell it only for English, or if they already have other languages' versions.

Thanks for the info!

Anne
