Hi all,-- found this in my mailbox and thought I'd pass it on!

Dear ,

I am a student of technical translation at the University for Applied Sciences in Flensburg, Germany. I am currently writing my dissertation about the effects of globalisation on the translation
industry. I have decided to conduct a survey to evaluate the current
situation and the position regarding risks and chances of all parties involved.
Thank you for setting aside some time to answer some questions regarding
the theme of my dissertation, "Globalisation and its effects on the translation industry." I will be conducting the survey to translators and translation agencies, as well as industry clients, to find out their
prospects and concerns on globalisation in the translation industry. In order to receive a clear picture within this sector, it is important that as many questionnaires are filled out and submitted as possible.

The survey is being conducted anonymously and the results will be held in
complete confidentiality. The survey is for academic reasons and there is
no financial interest. At the end of the questionnaire, every participant will have the opportunity to provide their email
to receive a final copy of the results.

You can access the questionnaire for translators at the following address:

Thank you very much for your participation.
Sincerely,
Florian Willer

Good idea to post this here. I had seen it elsewhere as well and filled out the questionnaire. Interesting to see what the study results will prove to be...

quickly done Jan 22, 2004

When I look at some of the questions I can hardly believe that there is no financial interest involved, but I am curious about the results.

You might find this Canadian Translation Market survey useful as a reference in your Thesis.

Nicht unbedingt auf dem letzten Stand (1999), aber immer noch aktuell.
