As a translator and interpreter working with agency as an independent contractor do I need a liability insurance or the agency is the one responsible for your work, in case something happen?
If I need an insurance, who do you suggest me to contact in US?

Search the forums Nov 8, 2004

Hi!

This is quite a perennial question on proz.com. There's heaps of information about liability insurance in the forums already. Just type in "liability insurance" in the green "search" box at the left of your screen, and you ought to get at least a couple of dozen hits.

Liability insurance through ATA Dec 1, 2004

Hello if you go to the ATA website: www.atanet.org, you will find info on how to get liability insurance. I joined the ATA for this reason alone.
In my opinion, every freelancer should have this to protect themselves. It is standard in other professions to have this type of insurance. If you are translating on a regular basis, you will make a mistake at some time or another.
