Hello all
I am a French freelance translator and I always wondered if the best or easiest way to get work from an agency was to send a CV to a brand new one, looking (desperately) for translators. Does it make any sense??? And is it possible to find the just-created translation agencies? The problem is that you can't know if they are good payers as they are new

Established agenices might be better

If you want a steady workflow at a not too low price, it may be better to primarily contact well established, preferably big agencies. New agency actors on the market may have to offer low prices to end clients, which will mean low rates for freelancers. Now, well established agencies may of course already have access to experienced freelancers with your language pairs and specialization. To make them come to you, you need to establish a presence on the Internet, by entering your information at sites such as Proz, Aquarius, TransRef etc. It may also be a good idea to join a translators' association, e.g. a French one.
