I wonder if anyone out there can help me. I am trying to find the Spanish law that states no IVA need be paid for literary translations. One friend cited the following:

* Disposición Adicional Tercera Ley 22/1987, de 11 de noviembre, de

propiedad intelectual, y

Ley 37/1992, de 28 de diciembre del Impuesto sobre el Valor Añadido

But then another person advised me it was:

Ley 37/9, artículo 20.1.26, epígrafe 774

I see that this topic was touched on some time ago in this forum:

However, I am still not clear which law covers this area.

As I am not in Spain right now, I can’t phone up my local tax office. So, I’d be very grateful for any help with this murky area.

Thanks in advance,

Sheila

O.M. MINISTERIO DE HACIENDA Oct 21, 2002

It is an Orden Ministerial and a Resolución de la Dirección General de Tributos ...

Please check it at http://www.mineco.es

During almost three years we had to include the VAT in the invoices...till we got the free status for the literary translations and all the books for publishing houses
