In a previous posting, I gave some of my favourite tips for 2003.

However, I forgot to mention one of my personal favourites. (Must be the Christmas cheer!)

PC Pitstop!

A great site for diagnosing and automatically fixing your PC problems.

PC Pitstop analyses your PC, and supplies a report. (very comprehensive, but one that Pinnochio could understand, the block head)

For most problems, an Auto-fix is available.

Finally, you are given a PC score.

Can you beat 1457?

Sometimes some knowledge on how to assemble a computer and how to fix your problems comes rather handy-especially if after a hard-disk crash, you know how to install that backup hard-disk, which all of us have made. If you did not make one you are in for troubles. Hard-disks are made to crash. On an avarage a hard disk, which works 8 hours/day lasts five years. If your h.d. works day and night it lasts about a year. It also saves you money when you know which pieces you must buy.

Conclusion : Follow a hardware course. What you learn there might come handy.

Rocket fuel? I think mine's pedal-powered! Jan 9, 2003

I scored -10, and it told me I need a new computer.

I think it\'s right but I\'ll just have to keep on pedalling for the moment.

Thanks David
