Could you give me a hint on the pricing of summarisation?

I just finished the translation of a 5000-word document and the client requested to make a short summary of it, in the target language: a matter of 200 words. Could you provide me with some advice on how to price this one? The job is due by tomorrow (pardon: today) in the morning.

Invoice your time Jan 24, 2003

I would invoice the time it takes you and tell your customer it will not take more than an hour or two or whatever. Base your hourly rate on the amount of words you translate per hour. I.e. I translate 3000 words in 10 hours, 300 an hour. I charge 0.xx per word therefore: 300 x 0.xx = hourly rate.

Hope this helps.
