Please visit http://ec.europa.eu/education/languages/news/news3725_en.htm for details.
In my opinion, this event, fully webcast, was far too little advertised. I got the message when the conference was already in progress, and joined immediately - it was worth it! There was a vivid discussion in the event's chatroom as well.

but I see that on Archived Videos:
http://webcast.ec.europa.eu/eutv/portal/archive.html?viewDocumentaries=1
"The video recording will be available shortly."

For the sake of exactitude... Nov 28, 2009

this is not a "EU report on language industry" but a "study on the size of the language industry in the EU", please refer to http://ted.europa.eu/Exec?DataFlow=N_one_doc_access.dfl&Template=TED/N_one_result_detail_curr.htm&docnumber=335033%202008&docId=335033-2008&infam=y&StatLang=

Excellent conference Nov 28, 2009

I absolutely agree that this conference should have been promoted and advertised better, especially on proz.com. I was lucky enough to have spent almost all day listening to the presentations and speeches as well as interacting with other online participants through the chat facility and can say that I found it to be an extremely informative, interesting and valuable experience. I actually asked during the conference how long it would be until the videos would be available and was told it should be uploaded entirely by next Friday(4th). I really recommend that everybody take a look at it. You can access it here http://tinyurl.com/yjepkjq once they've uploaded it.

It was truly a report on the present condition of language industry, the language pairs most in demand, the specialisms most in demand, the developments in TM and MT market, everything you should know as a participant of the language services market ...
