I know, the Euro passed the $ 1,23 mark, implying that outsourcers in the dollar area have to pay more to translators in the Euro area, but is this not a little bit overdone?

We have a verb "who want to get rich, falls into temptation". I wonder if anything could go wrong, since the name of the contact person "Engel" means "angel" in Dutch. I hope it's

Not bad... Dec 13, 2003

Three million dollars for just a little bit more than 9000 words. Mmmmmm...

I was just wondering if it is tax included.

In first instance I didn't react at all, because the job is not interesting to me, and I can't imagine they would enter into a contract with a translator for this lump sum.
However, for safety's sake I reacted later on, just to warn them.

Oooooops ... did forget to ask about the tax!!!!

Romuald, perhaps your overlooked a line somewhere in the middle:
Volume and pricing: 9142 words at 400.00 USD per word [ TOTAL: 3656800.00 USD ]

Requirements:
Delivery deadline: 9:00am Dec 17, 2003

But please don't overlook another line, the deadline!!

400 USD for 9000+ words... Dec 14, 2003

I wonder if they already changed the job offer or it is still the way it was posted. Anyway, looking at it with a magnifying glass it turns out that it is a rather seriously underpriced job. And the price per word is system generated. That's a pity, as I was about to start a superfast crash course in Dutch...
