A company sent me asked me to translate some text as a test. I found out that this text is a part of their website's content. So i think, they suppose to localize their website in this way. I asked them, whether they expect a project in my language pairs, but they say, that they are just going to expand their database with more translators...
The Blue Board references are not bad, but I hesitate. What do you think?

That's not what I consider a sample translation Jun 23, 2005

Yes, it does sound fishy - I'm with you, I would hesitate, too. Anyway, I have had at least one negative experience with an agency that has in general very good ratings on the Blue Board, so you never know. Sheesh, didn't they think you could find this out?

I would do it if the length is reasonable. I find no reason to suspect foul play simply because the test text is part of their web site. If the length is unreasonable, tell them so.
