Hi,

I'd heard a lot about this tool and wanted to try it (French-English combination). Yesterday, I downloaded similis and I was really surprised (or rather shocked) when I lost Hindi and Punjabi Unicode fonts. Moreover, my keyboard layout changed on its own.

I was really worried because I had to submit a Hindi translation yesterday and nothing seemed to work. I was proofreading it and couldn't read anything typed in Hindi Unicode nor could I type again.

FYI I have wordfast on the same computer.

And everything was back to normal after I uninstalled Similis. Is it normal? Has anyone else faced this problem?

Or is there a conflict between wordfast and similis?

Thanks in advance,

Ritu

Hi Ritu,

Unfortunately, I am not familiar with Similis, so cannot help you with your specific problem.

However, since you are interested in using this tool, you might like to read an article in the knowledgebase about Similis, that is, if you haven't done so already.

"Beginner's first steps with Similis" by Jean-Marc Tapernoux

Good luck and take care!

Hi Niraja,
Thanks for the suggestion. In fact, I have already read this article and heard an interesting discussion about it recently. It seems quite interesting... anyways, I guess, I need a separate computer for this.
Thanks again.
Ritu
