Story Collector
May 17, 2003
Good morning,
Trados provides a plug-in for Quark XPress (called XTension in Quark-speak), the \"Story Collector\". The files you need to copy into your Quark directory tree are in the \\...\\Trados\\T5\\WS\\Story Collectors\\QuarkXPress directory.
The export process creates a .qsc file, which you can open in TagEditor.

Dear Ralf,
Thank you very much! It\'s very helpful.
Now my question is \"how to create a .qsc file in Quark?\". My \"SAve as\" options are only .qxd and .qxt. And \"how to export the whole document at once?\". There are total 32 pages, but I am only able to \"save text\" for one at a time.
Thank you in advance!
Hang

how to create a .qsc file in Quark?

Hi,
this is from the Story Collector help on line (the STORYCOLLECTORQ1033.HLP file, I would suggest that you carefully read this help on line before you continue with the process).
To export stories from your QuarkXPress file to a single export file:
1. Open the QuarkXPress file you wish to export.
2. Set the story order if you’re not happy with the default Top-down order.

3. Select Export on the Trados menu in QuarkXPress. The Select Export File dialog box is displayed.
4. Browse to your WorkSpace source language folder. The file name and the QSC extension automatically appear.
Note: WorkSpace source language folders do not have to be contained within the project folder. You specify these when creating a project and they can be anywhere on your hard disk or network. However, the Quick Project Setup task uses the nested folder structure by default.
5. Click Save. Story Collector for QuarkXPress creates an export file in the WorkSpace source language folder you specified.

XGate from Star
May 21, 2003
Hello,
Story Collector works for QuarkXPress Windows files. If you have a Mac file, you can use XGate from Star. With XGate you will get an ASCII file which can converted in a rtf file and prepared for trados (make a small macro)
