I have a translator who is willing to translate in wordfast but we want to ensure that we get the TM for our TRADOS for future purposes. Is this possible?

Wordfast and Trados are compatible at TM level
Dec 19, 2011
Yes it is possible to convert a Wordfast TM into a SDL Trados Studio 2009/2011 TM provided that your translator converts its Wordfast Tm into TMX format and sends it to you. Then you can convert that TMX format TM into SDL Trados Studio 2009/2011 TM very easily.
Bye

It depends on segmentation

These tools have different ways of segmenting text. So you must pre-segment with Trados in order to get what you want. Otherwise the next time you use the TM in Studio you might get disappointed.
Wf Pro is able to use pre-translated ttx-files, and you can clean these after translation to get a Trados-style TM. Hope I'm right.
