Dear Cinzia,
Wordfast Pro cannot open TMX files as translatable files but it can open them rather as translation memories. So, what you need is possible but with a workaround.
- Create a new Wordfast Pro project with exactly the same language locale as your TMX.
- Open the TMX as a translation memory at Translation Memory menu > New/Select TM > OPEN.
- This will generate a txt file in the same folder. Close WF Pro for a moment. Open the generated txt TM file in Excel. Copy the source column (except the header) into a new Excel file.
- Open Wordfast Pro. Go to Edit menu > Preferences > Segmentation Settings, and check "Break".
- Open the new Excel file in WF Pro (drag and drop, or File menu > Open File); use the "Simple Wizard".
- Pre-translate the file using the TM through clicking the toolbar button "Translate All".
Now, you have a TXML file of your TMX content.
I am not sure what you need to do later; but if you have questions, just let me know.
Kind regards,
Yasmin
