I have just installed SDL Edit. It seems to be very easy and the help is very clear, but I cannot use the option File - New Translation.
Open translation is available but New Translation is grayed.
Opening a TM and and a Termbase is not solving the problem.
Any hint?

It's free but limited Nov 17, 2004

SDL Edit only allows you to edit files created by SDLX Elite.

You might want to try out the Standard version (fully functional) for 30 days.

Chances are you'll love it and will want to buy it. As far as I can tell, they have a twice-a-year sale when you can get it at half price.

Best,<

SDLX... Nov 17, 2004

Hi there,

Well if you have installed SDL Lite and are working with someone that supplies you with translations, then yes the new translation may in fact be greyed out as a non option.

As Esther mentioned you can get a 30 day full Professional version trial at the link provided by Esther above.

You'll see SDLX has a very logical approach and natural flow to it. Learning the bells and whistles can be easily done by using their help, or by viewing the document

The one which would help the most I think if you are starting off, "How to Use SDL Edit in SDLX 2004".

Hope this helps...
