Trados 2017 - merging segments crashes wordcount display

Hello Colleagues,

I've noticed (more like painfully experienced) that merging segments separated with hard return crashes wordcount display. I can see the wordcount within the file in the lower right corner of Editor but analysis, pretranslation or wordcount in batch tasks returns error and I cannot actually use these functions.

Is there any way to fix it?

Will be grateful for any ideas.
