I know that it's possible to export .msi files as .idt files and then translate them, but that makes it difficult to leverage translations, because of the output format. Are there any other tools that simplify the process?

Catalyst does it May 25, 2006

There is support for MSI in Alchemy Catalyst and perhaps in other tools also. I use Microsoft's ORCA (from Windows Installer SDK) and T-Window for Clipboard in Trados.

Are you sure about Catalyst? May 25, 2006

I worked with Catalyst and I don't remember seeing .msi in the list of supported file formats. I'll request a trial version key to test this myself.
