Thank you, wherestip, for the suggestion. This discussion stressed everyone and did not go anywhere. Translators should spend more time on studying the art of language and translation. W are not politicians, so there is no point we should try to cleanup the mess left by them.

不过，看完大家可能会恍然大悟，怪不得各位翻译同仁对政治这么感兴趣，nicole kidman 演的那个口译可一直都是个圣斗士。

There are plenty of job opportunities available in political translation, but I presume there might be few job opportunities for political translators. Maybe it's just the other way round. 
BTW, *political translator* received no hit at Google, but *political monk* received 3,400 hits.

知名作家柏杨今天凌晨一时十二分，于台湾新店市病逝，享年八十九岁。柏杨是于二月24日因肺炎及呼吸衰竭住进医院，并接受手术治疗。柏杨1920年出生於中国河南，毕业於中国国立东北大学，曾任自立晚报副总编 辑及国立艺专教授，创立国际特赦组织台湾分会并任会长，关切人权议题。柏杨早年曾因言治罪，遭国民党当局情治单位指为暗讽蒋介石父子，将其逮捕，判处12年徒刑， 1972年移送绿岛感训监狱。
柏杨著作等身，知名作品包括《丑陋的中国人》《柏杨版资治通鉴》在台湾被誉为最有价值和最畅销的一部书，《中国人史纲》被列为对社会影响力最大的十部书之一。
在柏杨病重期间，台湾总统当选人马英九于四月16日前往探视，陈水扁也于四月27日下午以私人身份探视柏杨，并以「勇士」相称。

It might be politically incorrect to say "political translators received no hit at Google", I searched again, it's "1,960,000 hits in 0.10 second".
It outnumbers "political monk" by large margins.
