大家好，我是proz.cm的新成员。我想询问一下，一般国际上的稿费是如何计算的，是以目标语言字数为基准，还是以源语言字数为基准？ 谢谢。

文革沒問題，六四更沒問題。誰佔得勢位，誰說的算。

稿費從來不是一般計算的，而是談判得來的。端看誰出價，誰還價；也就是，要看是賣方的市場呢，還是買方的市場。以台灣市場來說，如果 USD 0.02 的價錢也能接受，那就乾脆不要跟國際業者瞎混。

台諺說：想要當牛，不怕無犁可拖。今日咱們不用牛耕田了，大家都改用拖拉機的犁田方式，想當牛都無犁可拖了－－所以，先計算一下你買拖拉機要多少錢 (你買 Trados 要花多少錢)，你想花多少時間賺回那個投資 (算算用 Trados 的產能會有多大，一天工作多少小時才不會生病)，然後價錢大概就可以定出來了。最不濟也該有 USD 0.06，否則你買了拖拉機，一個不小心生了病，不能生產也同時沒錢看醫生了。

I use English word count to make quote. Feb 27, 2005

Hi, spicedfish,

I like to quote my client by using English word count regardless the job is English>Chinese or Chinese>English. This is because MS Word can do an accurate English word count for me. When you use MS Word to do word count, be sure to check if there are any text boxes in the file, because a standard run of word count will NOT include the words in any text boxes. You have to count the text in the text boxes separately.
