Just got an E-mail asking for a quote for localization of an "entertainment" web site and the software it sells with documentation specifically targeted at Chinese market.

When I visited the site following the link in the mail, I was directed to a porn site selling free porn services and software. I double-checked and YES, this is the site and software the CEO of this US company wants me to translate!

I hate people who put pornography on the Net and pollute this new space that can be used to improve human experience. Neither my religion nor my conscience will allow me to directly or indirectly promote the darker side of this human world.

Cybersex has been polluting youths around the world. No matter how much they pay you, my dear colleagues, please remember what you translate can really have some impact on this world. Please use your talent to make it brighter, cleaner, NOT dirtier. ▲ Collapse
