A friend said that he read that not only is this the year of the dragon, but it's also the year of the water dragon. I immediately thought of the calendar system of 天干地支, and explained to him how it worked.
I looked it up afterwards. Indeed this is 壬辰年, and lo and behold, 壬 is indeed the sign associated with water.
