Humans aren't the only species that pays attention to status -- in fact, many of our primate cousins are even more obsessed with hierarchy. Duke University neurobiologist Michael Platt has done similar research on rhesus macaques, a type of monkey that lives in large groups organized by social status. In one study, he found that male monkeys were willing to give up a treat -- juice -- in order to look at pictures of higher-status males.

Just read this in a news about a recent psychological study. The researchers found that human brains respond to people of different (apparent) hierarchies differently- reflected in MRI findings. This monkey study was mentioned in this report. I found it hilarious and very interesting.

I ordered a DVD from Dangdang on Jan. 2nd. It was shipped the next day according to the shipping notice I received.
I just got the package in the mail yesterday.

我爱去Outer Banks 其中很大原因就是喜欢那长长的跨海桥，水共长天一色，一路开过去心就象被抚了一遍。
这世界最长桥－－ 可惜在中国我不敢开车呀。

Thank you for the links. I once drove through the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway (the longest cross-lake bridge) up to the north lakeshore and then turned around back to New Orleans. The Causeway is just a little longer than the Hangzhou Bay Bridge (the longest cross-sea bridge). So, I could image how it would be like to drive through the Hangzhou Bay Bridge.

I drove on the San Mateo bridge several times while on a business trip in 1992.

找半天，总算找到了，原来我过了几次的那桥叫Virginia Dare Memorial Bridge。只有5.2迈，在outer banks都不是最长的。
但大概因为它是接到一个窄窄的半岛上，视野很开阔。

Steve,
When I tried to connect to the video link, my computer says it found links to 21ch.com which is a distributor of some downloads that some people considered as adware, spyware and etc. To watch the video, I was asked to download a software called golfbox.msi. Is it safe?
