Not the timing Nov 11, 2007

I have been around Proz.com for 3 to 4 years, had done many projects posted here, but just recently become a paid member. $125 is a big money for the translators in China (it is about 1000 yuan now). Why do not build your credit and reputation first, then become a paid member to compete with other paid and unpaid member?
But if you have already had a good reputation and big client pool, go ahead join the party.

Reputation originates from dealing with clients and handling business. A non-member's chance of landing a project is pretty pretty slim amid vicious competition. It's a miracle to do "many projects posted here, but just recently become a paid member". Vous avez vraiment une bonne chance!

Emanuel Derman在他的书“My Life as a Quant”中说:“... if you can program, you can always add value. If you can't, you have to be a lot smarter to earn your keep.”
