不知道查到bloke没有. bloke是指普通男人.
bloke = (UK informal) a man, often one who is considered to be ordinary. eg Paul's a really good bloke (= I like him a lot). He's a funny sort of bloke (= slightly strange)
blokeish;blokish = (UK informal) describes a man who behaves in the way people traditionally think ordinary men behave when they are together eg He's too blokeish for me - always talking about football and cars.

無論希拉蕊或麥肯，要打敗像奧巴馬這樣清新耀眼的對手，唯一方法就是問選民：你真的認識這傢伙嗎？
或者用推論法，他真是像他所說的那種人嗎？我講的不是有關他的種族、宗教或教養的粗俗挖苦，而是指這個訓練有素的人，用拯救者、調解者、統一者等極度浮誇的字眼來標榜自己。
畢竟這是他最主要賣點。他承諾超脫黨派，帶領我們跨越意識形態和其他過時的分裂，讓我們團結成為「一個國家」，這讓他有別於其他候選人，不同於他鄙視的「舊政治」。
這麼做奏效了。問美國人，誰可以讓大家團結，百分之六十七說是奧巴馬，百分之三十四認為是希拉蕊，百分之五十一說是麥肯。
奧巴馬是如何辦到的呢？藉由緊咬一個美國現代政治中最無法合理推論的陳述不放。
它是這樣的。因為奧巴馬超越了種族，因此他被視為能超越一切，宗教、階級、黨派、世代和意識形態的對立。
它的前提是正確的。奧巴馬的確超越了種族，他不是以伸張少數族群不滿的候選人之姿參選，他對美國的願景很顯然是拋開種族的，但結論不見得能依此類推。
這只能說是奧巴馬對於美國人團結一致的巧妙頌揚，「年輕人及老年人、富人及貧民、黑人與白人、拉丁裔及亞裔──所有厭倦因政治讓我們分裂的人」。因此，「這次選舉不是要從地域、宗教或性別做出選擇。也無關貧對富、老對少、黑對白，而是過去對未來。」
這種祈求全面性團結的影響令人震撼，特別是美國人所有的對立中，以種族對立最為深刻且悲慘。這個祈願由一個有能力帶領我們超越種族對立的人提出。這意味奧巴馬是能超越其他所有對立的唯一人選。
這種說法並非毫無根據，可能是真的。但問題是，從奧巴馬個人經歷來看，至少以他的情況來看，並非如此。事實上，他當參議員的紀錄讓這種聯想落空。
奧巴馬曾發給記者長達八頁的實例報告，證明他如何奔走於參議院的廊道之間。但那都是些幾乎沒爭議的小項目，像提供退役軍人更多協助、縮減前蘇聯未受控制的核武等，諸如此類。促成兩黨一致支持美國稱不上有勇氣。
在最需要政治勇氣、挑戰自己政治選區的艱困妥協上，奧巴馬退縮了。在「14人幫」對司法任命案的妥協上；在移民法案的妥協上，奧巴馬試著附加工會支持的要命修正案；還有上個月，在參議院獲得68票贊成竊聽無須授權的妥協上，都沒有奧巴馬的一票。
到底是誰支持這些兩黨協議？是兩黨之間的核心人物嗎？又是誰在更聲名狼藉的麥肯─費恩格競選財務改革中斡旋協調？當然是麥肯。
沒錯，麥肯是不知節制又作風粗暴，手段激烈又說話刻薄。但事實證明，團結無關口才或態度，而是攸關個性和勇氣。 ▲ Collapse

Sensible women will take the pill. There is also the morning-after pill.
But there are issues of consent when a woman is drunk. A rape case recently failed to be proved because the woman was drunk.
