Arabic characters get reversed in PPT

Dear all,
I am translating a Power Point file from English into Arabic using
Deja Vu. After exporting the translation to the original file, the
Arabic word order gets reversed. Although Arabic is a right-to-left
language, the word order becomes as follows.

"Here is an example"
becomes after exporting
"example an is here"

I do not know where the problem can possibly be. The translation goes
smoothly without any trouble UNTI... See more

You should change language settings May 23, 2008

After exporting the file you should change language settings. Well it is not so easy in PowerPoint but there is a macro for it. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/245468/en-us

It's not a real solution but... you can try the mixed Trados-DVX-Trados workflow... May 23, 2008

I have no idea how it works in Arabic but you may try to bypass the problem translating the presegmented ttx file.

If the translated ttx file is correct, it should work in ppt.
If the ppt file is incorrect, you've found a Trados bug too...

BTW.
The advantage of the Trados-DVX-Trados workflow is the DVPRJ files are often considerably smaller.
