Hi there!

Ever had a large TTX file (7 MB in my case) that just would not import into DVX for all the love in the world? If so, how did you tame him?

Yes, I did presegment in Trados and yes, it does open in TagEditor itself, but DVX just goes idle when I try to import, although I see in my Windows Task Manager that the system usage of DVX varies every few seconds, so something must be going on. However, the project does not increase in size, so I am not sure whether something imports at all. Cancelled it after 10 minutes, no result.

Is it worth just giving DVX the time it needs or is this simply the limit of what my computer can handle?

For what it's worth: it flawlessly imports into ApSiC xBech.

Hoping for some help...

Wolfgang

A 7 MB text file is huge Jul 29, 2008

To import a 7 MB text file into DVX I would estimate 35 to 70 minutes, and nearly the same for the export, so I would bet that DVX could not complete the import within 10 minutes. You just need to find something useful or entertaining to do while the computer is working for you.

Good luck,

Harry

And it did import Jul 31, 2008

Don't know how long it took but in fact, it was ready when I woke up.
