The scenario is the following:
1) I have already used propagate once for a translation unit
2) then I decide to change the translation of the propagated term
3) then I try to propagate the altered translation (by pressing Alt+F9)
4) the new translation is not propagated.

Is this a limitation in DVX or is it that I am not doing something right?

Try the Dejavu-l Yahoo group May 10, 2004

Hi Spiros,

There seem to be problems with the Autopropagate function in build 238.

Here's one of the messages from the Dejavu-l Yahoo group:

Thanks! May 10, 2004

Thank you for pointing out to this file, I had already searched their archive and was aware of its existence, however, the units in question do not contain quotes and propagation works fine, the FIRST time I propagate one translation unit. It fails to work if I decide to change the translation!

Mille grazie!

Spiros

Workaround May 10, 2004

I'm not sure whether or not there is a parameter to control the behaviour of the autopropagate function, but it seems to me that DVX propagates translations only to empty segments and to 100% match segments. Anyhow, as a workaround, you could filter on the source term, delete all translations and then autopropagate the new translation to all filtered segment.

try not confirming them May 10, 2004

here is what happens in SDLX, and it may be similar in DVX:
if after autopropagation I confirm the autopropagated segments, these will not get updated anymore if at a later stage the original segment (the one which triggered autopropagation) gets changed.
To reflect any changes, the autopropagated segments must be left as autopropagation segments (i.e. not confirmed).

HtH,
Roberta

How can this be done?
