Nedenst√•ende er en email jeg lige har sendt til the President og CEO for RWS i San Fransisco. Jeg er simpelthen tr√¶t af store firmaer der ikke betaler os, og forventer at vi vil udf√łre arbejde for dem igen. Jeg har naturligvis ingen anelse om hvorvidt jeg vil f√• svar, men nu pr√łver jeg alts√•.

Dear Andrew Brode and Lyra Spratt-Manning,



I am forwarding you my email correspondance with Nathalie Pryce and Maggie Moticka dating back from November of 2002. I am sorry to have to call your attention to this seemingly small matter, but it represents a major problem for translators all over the world. If you can take a minute to check your company\'s status on proZ.com\'s Blue Board (http://www.proz.com/?sp=agency_list&agency_id=543&start_number=1003) you will see that it will become increasingly difficult for your company to hire qualified translators to work for you with your current payment, or lack-thereof, policy.



Obviously, it is very frustrating for freelancers to have to wait this long for payment or worse still, as in this case, not know if and when payment will be made. We are relying solely on this income, and we all try to be as professional and diligent in our work as possible in order to deliver the best possible translation to you. We only ask to be treated the same way by you and to be paid in a timely manner.



Nathalie Pryce is a great project manager, supportive and pleasant, and Maggie Moticka has been nothing but courteous, in what I guess are circumstances beyond her control. This is why I am taking this matter to the top at this point. I urge you to change your payment policy in general and let me know specifically when I can expect payment.

Jeg tror dog desv√¶rre at en d√•rlig betalingspolitik som regel beror p√• en \'management decision\' - det er nok de f√¶rreste projektledere eller bogholdere etc. der tilbageholder betalinger for deres egen skyld, og det p√• trods af at diverse utilfredse \'leverand√łrer\' ringer og brokker sig...

We are at the end of our fiscal year and awaiting funding from our parent

based on our budget request. I am sorry, but I can not give you a payment

date until I hear back from them. I am expecting a reply before the end of

the month.

Det er jo en absurd situation, at man skal vente et halvt år, inden man kan få at vide om firmaet \"får lov\" til at betale en i en nærmere ikke-defineret fremtid. Jeg skrev tilbage, om det var almindelig praksis, eller om jeg var særligt heldig. Og i givet fald, hvad jeg kunne have gjort anderledes for at blive betalt tidligere. Og det drejer sig i virkeligheden ikke om mere and ca 400 dollaser, men nu er jeg sgu rigtig mopset!

I worked with RWS in California and in Colorado and had a heck of a time getting money from them. I mailed several invoices to each office for the work I did for each of them. In the end I combined the invoices and sent one invoice to the office in California. I got paid in full. I thought I had been clever but maybe not, it might have been your letter that got them to pay me. I thank you. I have a copied your text and will use it another time, if you permit, should I run into similar situations in the future.

Man skulle tro, det var l√łgn. Jeg har stadig ikke modtaget betaling fra dem, men her til morgen tilb√łd de mig et nyt overs√¶ttelsesjob! Jeg afslog naturligvis, og fortalte project manageren grunden, s√• m√•ske kan han skubbe p√•. Who knows. 4/15/03

jeg håber, du meget snart får dine penge - det er virkelig til at blive rigtig godt gammeldags gal i skralden over, når man ikke får sine penge - hvor i alverden kan man egentlig overhovedet finde andre serviceydelser, hvor \"man\" kan tillade sig at holde pengene tilbage i månedsvis - jeg har i hvert fald aldrig stiftet bekendtskab med nogen...



I din situation ville jeg ogs√• have afsl√•et at overs√¶tte et nyt job - faktisk har jeg selv haft held med den samme metode - til et bureau, der havde meget sv√¶rt ved at rykke ud med pengene i et acceptabelt tidsrum sendte jeg et brev med erkl√¶ring om, at jeg ikke kunne se mig i stand til at overtage flere opgaver fra dem, f√łr de havde betalt alle √•bne regninger - det virkede sgu!

I mange tilfælde er det for besværligt (eller måske ikke engang muligt) for et bureau at finde en anden oversætter, der kan springe ind og overtage opgaverne - og det må man jo udnytte!

I dag, den 21. april, fik jeg tilsendt betaling fra RWS. Kun 7 1/2 måned efter at jeg sendte min regning til dem. Hvor er det altså ærgeligt at man skal bruge tid og energi på den slags.

N√•, det er p√•ske, solen skinner, min mor er p√• bes√łg fra Danmark....Nu g√•r vi ud i haven.

God påske alle sammen.
