Hello everybody,
I am new to the DTP/Translation process and I have an issue regarding the word count for .inx files exported from InDesign.
The exported files have the master content (not to be translated). When analyzing the .ttx files, the wordcount considers all content (to be and not to be translated).
Has anyone a tip on how to prevent the master content to be exported? Or any other method to, let's say "clean" the .inx, in order to count the words to be translated only?
Thank you in advance
I forgot to mention that I use Trados and TagEditor.

Hide the master content layer

If you have InDesign simply lock the master content layer before creating the .inx file.
Otherwise ask the vendor to do it for you.

Filter Setting

If you have a fairly recent Trados version, there is a checkbox in the filter settings called "Process master page content".
Just uncheck it, restart Trados and you're good.
To be sure that the change has taken place, run another wordcount and compare with your previous one...
