I was wondering how quiet the French to English translation market is generally in August. I'd be interested to hear your views. Thanks

last year was really busy Jun 7, 2005

But it was all related to tourism (also French-Dutch & French-German)...

fewer but bigger jobs Jun 9, 2005

Hello Emma,

we seem to work in the same language combination and in the same subject areas - nearly all of my clients are based in France and I usually find that there is less work around in August and the first week of September, but that the jobs that do come up tend to be fairly big, non-urgent jobs (company "statuts", articles for publication).
Jobs that I presume clients have been putting off dealing with until things calm down in the summer.
The good thing is you only need a few big jobs to keep you busy all month.

Good luck,
Jackie
