Hi everybody and sorry if I post in English- my French is rusty and I am afraid of mistakes.
I am a freelance Italian copywriter; a French editing company asked me to collaborate with them (part time), possibly from home, best in their office in South France.
Do you think I can use my Italian VAT code (partita IVA) to be paid? Do I need to register at the URSSAF?

Bonjour Iris,

tout dépend du pays dans lequel vous travaillez, du lieu où vous travaillez et de votre statut.

Si vous travaillez à domicile, en free-lance (en libéral), vous devez vous déclarer à l'URSSAF, si vous êtes domiciliée en France.

Le mieux est de demander :
-- à votre client ;
-- à l'organisme italien équivalent à l'URSSAF (j'ignore s'il existe) ;
-- à l'URSSAF ;
-- ici, sur ce fil, si votre client et les différents organismes se contredisent.

Il y a vraisemblablement des délais, des tolérances.

De toute façon, tant que votre statut est celui d'une traductrice libérale italienne qui n'est pas établie en France, vous pouvez (devez) facturer comme traductrice libérale italienne, donc avec votre numéro de TVA italien.

L'établissement peut prendre un certain temps.

Si vous devez changer de statut (travailleuse libérale en Italie -> travailleuse libérale inscrite à l'URSSAF), faites-le en début de trimestre (octobre, janvier, avril...), même si vous commencez à travailler en France à partir de septembre, par exemple.

D'autres avis plus compétents que le mien seront sans doute donnés.

I live in Italy and it seems now that they prefer me to work in their office in South France. Tomorrow I will call the URSSAF and find out the best (fiscal) solution.
