Hello

I know the topic of counting words in a pdf file has been discussed extensively but my problem is slightly different in that many pdf files I deal with are scanned documents and all word count software that I have tried fails to see ANY words whatsoever.

Any cure?

thanks

mihailo

Paper Capture Feature Oct 14, 2004

Hi

Have you tried the Paper Capture Feature in Adobe Acrobat? It's an OCR in a sense and works good only if your documents are scanned from properly printed material and not handwriting. Using Paper Touch Up, you could have a rtf file which could be counted easily.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes,

Rahi

Hi there

I managed to download a trial version of the abbyy software and it is excellent , I tried a few others and it seems to be the only one that can actually convert a SCANNED pdf. The others all report "notext"

Best Wishes

Mihailo
