Since I updated Copernic Desktop Search, I've had a couple of problems. When I reboot the computer, I'm left with two "quick launch" toolbars and no "copernic desktop search". Last time I rebooted I got an error report window, and it's now impossible for me to get in to the programme.
Has anyone experienced similar problems?
Can anyone suggest a solution (other than reinstalling the software)?

By "familiar", do you mean easy-to-use/user-friendly or that it is similar to the Copernic interface?
Does it work in the same way, ie. creating an initial index and then updating that index? I was very impressed with Copernic until I dowloaded the upgrade and it started going wrong. I'll wait for some more replies, and if I don't get anything, I'll uninstall and go with good old Google.
I've just tried reinstalling, and I only managed to get rid of the problem by uninstalling the index as well, so that's obviously where the problem was, although I still think the problem was probably caused by the new version.
I've just looked at the Google desktop search webpage, and the programme doesn't search pdf files, nor parts of words, so at the moment it's not really much better than using the Windows search facility.

In Systemstart, look for a copernic file, if you find it, disable it Install the application again
